When your vessel is not strong enough to hold that which you desire, the universe/God/infinite intelligence, will strengthen you. And the strength builders will come in the form of tests, challenges, and obstacles to overcome.
They will show up as people who irritate you, are emotionally draining, or exhibit behaviors that you do NOT like or approve of. These people are mirrors revealing to you, who you REALLY are. They are sent to strengthen your vessel.
Or your strength builder may present as physical pain in body. That nagging back ache, the heartburn you frequently experience, or the arthritis preventing you from opening that bottle of water. Your body is simply talking to you, guiding you to act and DO that which you already know will make you stronger; thus, strengthen your vessel.
Fundamentally, I believe that we know what we are doing or not doing that is either propelling us forward or keeping us stagnant, as if we are stuck in quicksand. Yet, we still decide that if we ‘don’t feel like it’, we “aren’t doing it!”
I believe we know our strengths and weaknesses. But, instead of leaning into our inherent greatness, we choose to focus our energy on judging those who remind of us own limitations.
I believe, at any given time, we know if we are in existing in denial or living our truth. However, we refuse to allow our minds to get quiet, to pray, to reflect or create an action plan to attract our authentic desires. Instead, we numb or emotions. We mindlessly eat or channel surf. Or we scroll social media seeking to explore the fake lives of those who are worse off than us. And then we lie to flatter ourselves, “At least I don’t do that; or have that problem. I am so blessed.” Forgive everything. Regret nothing.
Let me share with you what my journey to healing has taught me. It’s a hard pill to initially swallow, so be sure to take it with water.
Your life is in your hands. You have all the steering power. You are in control of the controllables. In other words, our development, our ability to strengthen our vessel, is completely up to us.
So, after taking this “reality pill’, take a moment to gather yourself. Find your bearings, settle in, and then take control of your vessel. To do so, first you must identify what you can control, and then release everything else. As those other things, the shit you cannot control, they are heavy. They will overburden your vessel and take up space reserved for your desires.
In closing, I leave you with this- a vessel is no more than a hollow container and your life is your vessel to fill.
And so it is.
Forgive Everything. Regret Nothing.
